Project 562: Changing the Way We See Native America In-Person

Created by Matika Wilbur of the Tulalip/Swinomish People, Project 562 is the effort to photograph each federally recognized tribe in the United States.  Her ten-year effort has resulted in an unprecedented repository of imagery and oral histories that accurately portray contemporary Native Americans, including the Nooksack and Lummi Tribes.  Matika will visit Whatcom County to share these images and stories. Take part in this important event at any of four locations.

This program is made possible by contributions from Friends of the Deming Library, Friends of the Ferndale Library, Nooksack Tribe, Northwest Indian College, Norcliffe Foundation, WECU Community Builder Grant, Sea Wolf Bakers, and a Lummi Nation Community Contribution Grant.
