CANCELED: Bats Northwest In-Person

NOTICE: Due to current guidance from public health officials, the Library is canceling all programs, events, meeting room bookings, and outreach activities during the month of March. After a close encounter with a friendly and curious bat at her mountain cabin, Kathleen Bander began researching bats and soon learned they were largely misunderstood and maligned in the United States. She formed Bats Northwest, a non-profit bat conservation group focused on education, research, and coordination with other conservation groups.

Her presentation will cover all aspects of bats, including the many types, the lifestyles, the myths, and the benefits, as well as information on what is being done to conserve bats worldwide. People will have the opportunity to look at preserved bats close up.
