Better Than BookTok In-Person
Join us on the first Thursday of every month at 4:00 p.m. for a themed bring your own book club.
Every month the theme is based on a book recommendation from Booktok*. Bring in your own book and/or recommendations based on that title — a book in the same genre, a book you think is better, a book by the same author, or that shares similar characters or settings.
This month the book theme is A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.
This book club is meeting in person at the Blaine Library with an option to participate virtually via Teams. If you want to attend the event virtually, please register to receive the Teams link via email. You do not need to register if you are attending in person.
WHAT IS BOOKTOK?
BookTok is a term started on the TikTok app. Users who post content about books use the hashtag #BookTok to make it easier for people to find. With the popularity of the TikTok app and the wide range of content posted to the app, it has become common to use the term "Tok" in the same way that categories are used on other platforms (such as #catsofinstagram or #disneywiki). It has become a part of our pop-culture vernacular. The books chosen for this book club have gained some popularity because of the book reviews they have received on TikTok.
