Whatcom READS presents: The Life of an Audiobook Narrator with Jayne Entwistle In-Person
Join us in the Rotunda Room of the Whatcom Museum to hear from award-winning audiobook narrator and actress Jayne Entwistle! She will be in conversation with Thom Barthelmess, Youth Services Manager for Whatcom County Library System.
The 2025 Whatcom READS selection No Two Persons by Erica Bauermeister not only features a character who is an audiobook narrator, it received the 2024 Audie Award for Multi-voiced Performance. Jayne Entwistle will speak with Thom about her work and whatever else tickles their fancy.
Jayne Entwistle is an award-winning audiobook narrator best known for her narration of the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley. She also received the 2015 Odyssey Honour Award for The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place by Julie Berry and the 2016 Odyssey Award for The War that Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. When not inhaling books for work or pleasure, Jayne works in film, television and commercials. The biggest star she has ever worked with is Shaquille O’Neal. He is quite literally THE biggest star she has ever worked with. Ever. He’s really big!
Thom Barthelmess is the Youth Services Manager at the Whatcom County Library System and is an avid audio reader. He has taught graduate level courses, served on committees, and presented nationally about audiobook production, evaluation, and appreciation. He selects digital materials for children for WCLS, and hopes you're listening to something wonderful.
