¿Quién hace los mejores tamales en el Condado de Whatcom? Reclame su título en esta sabrosa competencia en honor al Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Ya sean cocineros(as) caseros(as) que representan la receta de tamales de sus abuelas o chefs profesionales con su propia mezcla secreta de ingredientes, todos son bienvenidos a participar en el concurso de cocina o simplemente a venir a vivir la experiencia.  Los jueces otorgarán premios a sus tres mejores concursantes, pero la verdadera recompensa es el título: ¡Campeón de Tamales del Condado de Whatcom! Mientras esperamos que los jueces anuncien a los ganadores, los asistentes probarán los tamales y participarán en actividades que celebran la cultura Hispana. Los ganadores serán anunciados entre las 6:45 PM y las 7 PM.

Cómo asistir: La celebración del Mes de la Herencia Hispana comenzará a las 6 PM en la Biblioteca de Everson. Las evaluaciones comenzarán a las 6:15 PM. Los premios para los tamales del 1er, 2do y 3er lugar se entregarán entre las 6:45 PM y las 7 PM. No es necesario registrarse para asistir al evento.

Cada concursante deberá traer una docena de tamales a la biblioteca entre las 6 PM y las 6:15 PM. La evaluación comenzará a las 6:15 PM. Se deben observar las normas de seguridad alimentaria. 

Who makes the best tamales in Whatcom County? Stake your claim to the title at this tasty competition in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Whether you're a home cook representing your grandmother's tamal recipe or a professional chef with your own secret mix of ingredients, everyone is welcome to enter the cook-off or simply drop in for the experience. Judges will award prizes to their top three choices, but the real reward is the title: Tamal Champion of Whatcom County!  While we wait for the judges to announce the winners, attendees will sample the tamal entries and participate in activities that celebrate Hispanic culture. The winners will be announced between 6:45 PM and 7 PM. 

Join us for this celebration of food, culture, and community, and witness the crowning of Whatcom County's Tamal Champion! 

Attend: The celebration will begin at 6 PM at the Everson Library. Prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place tamales will be awarded between 6:45 PM and 7 PM. Registration is not required to attend.

Each contestant must bring a dozen tamales to the library between 6 PM and 6:15 PM. Judging will start at 6:15 PM. Food safety rules must be observed.
