Whatcom Grooves Summer Music Series: Tumbao in Glenhaven In-Person
Celebrate summer, music and libraries at free concerts hosted across the Whatcom County Library System. At each event, discover what’s new at local libraries and join neighbors in a joyous afternoon or evening of live music.
The South Whatcom branch and the Friends of the South Whatcom Library invite you to join them at the Glenhaven Clubhouse (2997 Glenhaven Drive, Glenhaven, WA) with Tumbao, an Afro Cuban band based in Seattle. This band plays an uplifting mix of salsa dance classics as well as originals by pianist Jauregui. Peruvian conguero Edsson Otero, Palouse drummer Jeff Busch and Seattle bassist Dean Schmidt round out the sound.
A great group, not to be missed ... be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
The Whatcom Grooves Summer Jazz Series is generously supported by the Whatcom County Library Foundation and the Friends of the South Whatcom Library. The Jazz Center of Bellingham makes this free event possible with special thanks to Jerry Steinhilber. Financial donations to support local libraries are gratefully accepted at the concerts.
The music begins at 5:30 but the festivities begin at 4:30. Come early and enter prize drawings, browse our pop-up library and book sale, and participate in lawn games!
Reserve your spot for free now. Bring your blankets, camp chairs, and picnics. No alcohol please. Carpooling is suggested as parking is limited.
