Wildhaven Writers Group Reading: Women's Bodies, Women's Words

Wildhaven Writers Group Reading: Women's Bodies, Women's Words In-Person

March is Women's History Month! Join us at the Ferndale Public Library for a group reading by the Wildhaven Writers as they present their collection, Women's Bodies, Women's Words, a colletcion of poems and personal essays about abortion, motherhood, abuse, and other women's issues. This book was written in response to the overturning of Roe V. Wade.

Wildhaven Writers is a writing group consisting of six women who write memoir, fiction, and poetry. They socialize over wine and snacks monthly and share their work with each other. The group, facilitated by Nancy Canyon, formed ten years ago after completing a Wild Mind Writing Class. The group has considered putting together a book of prose and poetry for many years, but a theme didn't grab them until Roe V. Wade was overturned. Outraged, the members created Women's Bodies, Women's Words. Though everyone worked together to bring this book to life, the interior was designed by Suzanne Harris and the cover and publication details by Nancy Canyon.
