The Blaine Library is pleased to announce our Summer Exhibition of local artists: Maria Monks and Jim Agnello Maria Monks began her journey to becoming a painter later in life. She studied under many notable artists in a variety of different locations, plus participated in multiple workshops with other fine artists. She is currently incorporating soft oil techniques into her growing palette of skills. Jim Agnello is a dedicated artist who has resided in Blaine for 40 years. After a severe stroke left him unable to use his right hand, he began drawing with his non-dominant hand. Since then, he continues to create art daily. Exhibits will be on display at the Blaine Library during library open hours, from July through September |

| Description: |
Artist Hannah Rivers' work concentrates on the abstraction of landscapes. The subjects are derived from loose drawings of aerial or satellite views of locations created or altered by humans. They vary from architecture, transportation, extraction sites, and recreational and historic areas. The process of Hannah’s artwork echoes the difficulty of controlling everything that happens to our surroundings, and the outcome can be unpredictable. In addition, the macro-level inspired detail is intended to bring three-dimensionality to an otherwise flattened perspective. On display in the Deming Library Meeting Room from June 2nd through August 20th. Sponsored by the Friends of the Deming Library. |
